Meditative and ethereal, yet grounded by some solid beats.
author: Max Srek
I really enjoy Garrett’s new CD, Caelum Moor. The music is meditative and ethereal, yet grounded by some solid beats. It’s great for waking up to, playing while working/thinking, or to help clear one’s mind. I particularly like how the themes of the short, gentle piano pieces get more fully developed with richer textures in the longer electronic pieces. It’s a very tightly woven album without being tedious or boring. Though it’s an electronic album, Caelum Moor is very calming. I particularly like the slow resonant quality of “Sarsen Caer II” and the smooth rolling flow of “Morna LinnII.” The bonus tracks are nice additions that add lively upbeat sounds without being sentimental.
The music certainly stands on its own, but I also like Garrett’s discussion of the environmental sculpture, “Caelum Moor” that served as the album’s initial inspiration. The images are beautiful, and Garrett’s tracks succeed in evoking a musical sense of what’s conveyed in the images. I think it would be a great art experience to hear Garrett’s music played/performed in the presence of the sculpture. It’s a shame the piece has been dismantled.
I highly recommend this album for anyone who likes to have music as part of their personal environment.

Intense Serenity
author: Jola
As an exploration and interpretation of a place that no longer exists, these meditative soundscapes honor the temporal and transitory nature of the material world as much as the mind. These melodies lend themselves to moments of contemplation aimed at excavating the depths of one's psyche. Frank Garrett's music grants listeners the pleasure of letting go and simply being in a volatile world.

Fresh, brilliant. All composers should give their music this much thought.
author: Krisandra
I love to listen to this CD while I'm relaxing and reading on a Saturday morning. Sometimes I listen to the CD while I go on a long drive to get my mind off of the mundane. This CD, and his newest CD, are nothing less than brilliant. Every song is better than the last. I wish there were more artists out there willing to be this creative and daring.
