Album Notes

The selection of tunes on this long awaited project were recorded live at Wilborn’s Music in historic downtown Ringgold, Georgia. Because it’s a live recording this humble offering is most certainly a natural product and it contains a variety of sounds that might, or might not, be the product of Bobby’s fiddle or Jim’s banjo. You might also, if you’re so inclined, find slight imperfections in the presentation. We’re proud to say, however, that you’ll find no dubious overdubs or any devious studio trickery. It is our firm belief that because of those very things, and of course Bobby’s and Jim’s genuine love for this genre, you will find the music presented to be honest, lively, entertaining, heart-warming, and fun.

Jim plays his Ramsey banjos (Woody and Minstrel) on this recording. Bobby plays a beautifully crafted 1880s French Maggini violin copy.

The session was recorded using two Alesis Groove Tube AM-11 Microphones and an M-Audio Audio Buddy pre-amp direct to a Tascam CD-RW5000 recorder. Mixing was done with Audacity ® 1.3.11-beta (Unicode).
