The idea for this recording began as a project to share as a gift with my family. All the songs on this recording were recorded over the Christmas Holidays 2005. For me, I need to be inspired by the season to get in the mood to play and sing this wonderful, yet, seasonal music. It would be better if we could remember the good words of these traditional Christmas Carols throughout the year. Some of the most beautiful lyrics are in the later verses that, unfortunately, are not often sung. This is a positive message of peace, love, and hope for all of us on the earth.
Also included on this recording are three classical pieces for piano and violin. While these are not traditional Christmas songs, they lend themselves well to the celebration of the season. "Ave Maria", the beautiful Bach "Arioso", and the slow movement to Dvorak's Opus 100 "Sonatina in G" for viloin and piano,"Indian Canzonetta", as a Czech tribute to the Czech Saint King Wenceslas who, in the carol teaches, "He who now shall bless the poor, shall themselves find blessing!".
On the lighter side you'll find "Jingle Bells", "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", and a very original arrangement of "Angels We Have Heard On High".
I hope that you enjoy my interpretation of these beloved songs, and may the spirit of peace, love, and hope be with you always!
