Album Notes

Holly's first live CD, "Live In New York City" was recorded at Makor in January 2003 with Dean Sharp on drums (who would like it to be know that he never did get a rehearsal!)

If you listen closely, you can hear Holly 1) flirting with the drummer, 2) making comments about bisexuality to no one in particular and 3) in general, being an ass. Because that is what she does best during a live performance. Smart ass comments, jokes at the audience's expense, and laughs at her own jokes.

I should know. I'm her.

Anyway, I am making this available on CD Baby mainly for devoted mailing list members and, dare I say it lest I sound too pretentious and rock starry, FANS, who have been asking me for a live record for a couple of years. The sales from this live record go directly into a fund to help me make my next studio record. So thanks. And keep in mind that its a live recording...some mistaken notes are as beautiful as the perfect ones. Some. But mostly, this is a recording of a very good time, warts and all.

Holly Figueroa's live CD is a breathtaking revelation. Her beautiful voice, guitar, lyrics, and musical compositions will leave you blessing the anonymous recorder of this night's gig. A priceless document of two great musicians and their lucky audience. We are blessed to have this release!

Usually I pop a CD in the office or my truck and there it stays if it's any good. This CD is so good I bring it from my truck to my office, back to my truck then home. Sound is excellent, not too much audience, or any muffled songs. Figueroa and drummer Dean Sharp totally clicked that cold night.
