Billboard.com excerpt written by: Christa L. Titus
Sarah Fimm's second album, "A Perfect Dream," was a diamond buried deep in the indie underground: a brilliant and durable gem worth mining that no doubt will increase in value. Likewise, Fimm's new "Nexus" is another rare jewel. Whereas the songs from "Dream" were very separate entities, the 15 cuts winding through "Nexus" transition into each other almost seamlessly, creating a chilled-out dimension, one that is vast and colored with celestial imagery.
The mood they evoke is at times soothing ("Space Journey") and stirring ("Velocity," "Mercury"). You'll find yourself roused by the trippy grooves in "Story of Us," then calmed by "Paradise." Several songs contain little more than Fimm's tranquil voice and piano or keyboards, which accentuate the lofty atmospheres with electro gurgles, whirls or heartbeats.
But Fimm can also speak more profoundly with lulls of delicate sound and breaths of silence than many can with words. "Walk Away" shifts the ambience into one of deep melancholy that is carried through "December" and blooms in a mournful cello on "Orchids." The windy, eerie landscape of a distant planet surrounds "Great Wide Open" before reaching the finale "Storytime," a brief piano interlude that could be felt as either joy or grief. Fimm's artistry is a creature of great emotion and subtle nuance. We bow to its delicate yet powerful beauty.
'It's this professionalism and dedication to their music that has taken Fimm's bassist Peter Geraghty's and drummer Jim Perry's work out of some little rehearsal space and into the world. Nexus is a beautiful Album and recommended across the board.'

mesmerising
author: TomaszThere is no need to write about it as music always speaks for itself. To me, this is one of the most beautiful albums that I know. It was such a coincidence to come across it. She's dwelt in the depth of my soul ever since I heard 'Paradise' which took me to heaven indeed. A bit gloomy, dark, stirring up the anxiety, profoundly sorrowful and moving 'December' is my favourite though. But I just love the whole story, from the beginning, to the very end. I would only wish Sarah's music could get to more people that, I am sure, waiting for it not even being aware of that- just as i was until I found her- the gem! I've been so looking forward to your fourth pearl, Sarah. Thank you!
Profesionally done start to finish
author: GregThis is what I look for in a music search. Love the open sonic landscape and spacing of the instruments in this recording. Just the right amount of acoustic and electronic fusion for my taste. The ethereal and emotive vocals of Sarah are hauntingly melodic. The cd is very well produced and is an outstanding headphone adventure. If you enjoy the soothing nature of the female voice this is a must have cd.
Just what I expected
author: ElaineIt is a very good album which I know I will want to hear many many times. It is more accessible and planant than her two first albums, but somehow, this sort of change seems to be more of a good evolution turn. I listened alot to "A Perfect Dream" but I think I have more "favorite songs" on Nexus. I think Nexus is full of good songs, in comparaison with A Perfect Dream, which seems to be half great songs half ok songs. So... Yeah, if you've already bought her two first albums and hesitate to buy this one, don't hesitate too long. It's probably her best one. :) The album is not perfect, but it's absolutely lovely.
Fantastic, Beatiful!
author: JosephDefinetely a pearl in my cd collection, which now has cds from many different genres. The piano tunes mixed with the subtle electronical sounds does it for me! Her voice not only incredible but also mesmerizing , takes you into your own little world. Relaxing, solemn yet sorrowful but in the good way..If that even makes sense..listen for yourselves.
just like it
author: PeteI heard one track of this album on a compilation from Daimler Crysler (or was it BMW?): Loved the sounds and the voice of course. It's a little bit too melancholic sometimes imho, but great nevertheless... My favourites are Strange and December and there's no track i really don't like. Recommended.
from the first note i was hooked, line and sinker ...
author: mariwww.radioparadise.com has a Listener Review Channel as well as the 'now playin' channel' and as new and particularly indie, creative and experimental music is my target muse I took to Sarah from the very first note of her very first song I ever heard ; Sarah Fimm - 'In The Red', from 'A Perfect Dream'. I immediately ordered all three cd's from CD Baby and now, here in Broome West Australia, I listen to my heart's content to a fellow traveller with the gift of communication through her lyrics and transcendental music. thank you Sarah, thank you CD Baby and thank you 'biodiesel' for uploadin' that song on LRC of Radio Paradise that 'fateful day'. Nexus is glorious!

author: Liberti L..·:*:·.This is one of the most beautiful cds I own - & I own alot! I especially love track 9: Be Who You Wanna Be. I could kill an awful lot of batteries on that song alone. ~_^* All of the tracks, however, are gorgeous. You can feel the emotion Ms. Fimm put into them. Nexus is one cd you won't be able to live without once you've had a listen!.·:*:·.

Angelical Voice
author: OlgaZamoraMiguel®Before, i didn´t know who is Sarah Fimm, but afortunately i begin to know about the relevante name of this artist, and it´s about reading the peter murphy live reviews, infortunately Sarah didn´t performe the peter murphy show in my country (Mexico City) but, today i visited this site and i am impresive to listen the angelical voice of Sarah Fimm, excellent!!! she reminds me my other favorite female singers like Tori Amos, Sara Mc Lachllan, incluse Kate Bush and Sinead O´Connor.
An Incredibly Lush and beautiful album!
author: RyeThis cd is amazing! I can't believe how beautiful this music is! If you are a fan of Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos and Daughter Darling you will love this album. The meshing of Electronic beats with Sarah's haunting vocals and stirring piano workings are brilliant. These are some of the most emotive songs I have heard on one cd since Trespassers William's DIFFERENT STARS album (which you can buy on this AWESOME web site also!). Some of the highlights on this gorgeous album are Losing Velocity, Mercury, Strange, Be What You Wanna Be, Paradise and Walk Away. If you are a fan of female vocals and you pass this cd up you are a FOOL!!!!
The angel sings again
author: Kyle in DenverI have listened to Sarah since I first found her on MP3.com and purchased her CD. I find her music to be a nice dichotomy of lust clothed in innocence. This album tends a bit more toward the innocence side and is every bit as soothing and melodic as everyone is saying it is, however in nice Sarah style it has a good beat to contrast all this mellowness. I was fortunate enough to catch her on her way through Denver on her tour with Peter Murphy and I have to say that if you have a chance to catch her live do so-very cool.

Sarah Fimm is one of those artists that makes me smile on a sunny or a rainy day. "Nexus" grabbed me right from the start--I feel like I'm floating in space when I listen to it, while simultaneously sitting in a bay window watching the rain fall while drinking a cup of coffee. Just delicious. Sarah Fimm sits alongside a group of up-and-coming artists--Charlotte Martin, Sarah Harmer, Rosie Thomas, Mindy Smith--who will soon join the ranks of Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, and Patty Griffin. And for those of you who want to dig into another artist who feels like a "soul sister" to Sarah Fimm, check out Julee Cruise, particuarly her first album, "Floating Into the Night." The name says it all. And I give "Nexus" as many thumbs up as possible!
Nexus is a beautiful album and recommended across the board.
author: www.MusicTAP.comFimm, upon first listen will probably evoke images of Sarah MacLachlan, Tori Amos, even Dido on a few tracks. But she is in a class unto her own. Her vocals in particular are familiar yet with their own distinct qualities. Breathy, emotive, dark, hopeful, they perfectly complement her subtle style of piano. The songs are a trove of varying musical styles and lyrical inspirations. Jazzy rhythms, trip-hop beats, pop sensibility and rock and roll soul help to bring the anti-war anthem "Story of Us", the soft and tragic "Orchids" and the brilliantly catchy, instant classic "Mercury" to life. A terrific aspect of Nexus is its ability to open up even further over successive spins. I first hooked into “Mercury”, then to the rocky “Sky is Falling Down” and have recently settled into the somber, radio-ready “December”. It goes on and on. And yet, despite all of the evidence leading one to believe Fimm and co. must be on some major -- Atlantic, RCA, anyone -- they're not on any label at all. It's this professionalism and dedication to their music that has taken Fimm's, bassist Peter Geraghty's and drummer Jim Perry's work out of some little rehearsal space and into the world. Nexus is a beautiful album and recommended across the board.
FANTASTIC- Sensitive and Moving; with Haunting Sweetness...

Mood inspiring
author: Michael DailyI purchased her second cd and was pleased with it. This cd you can tell the growth of the music. It flows from one song to the next. Keeps a steady flow with all the songs and makes your emotioons groove.
Awe-inspiring, beautiful music....
author: Jana S (in Cali)Amazing -- Sarah's lyrics are uplifting and inspirational, her piano playing is beautiful and her voice is perfect for the songs. It's impossible to feel bummed-out while listening to this album...it's music to dream of a better world by. =)
I really like this album alot!!!
author: MariaThis CD is a bit more mellow than her other two CD's. It is a great listen and is more polished sounding and more mature than her other two as well. And the lyrics are as deep as they ever were. Good stuff. Two thumbs up.
Addictive
author: RobertThis is an intriguing album, sombre at times but beautiful as well. Patient, with songs allowed to wander into creative territory. An interesting blend of vocals, electronic and acoustic instruments, which could not have been easy to achieve. Lyrically and vocally, it is also fascinating.
Soft soothing, dreamy music....
author: JanaI love all of sarah fimm's music however, this cd just completely florred me. It is so beautiful and melodic and the piano, im a sucker for the piano. This cd was put together wonderfully. You can really tell she puts her heart into her music, and I am really glad that she does!
Truely Inspired Artistry...
author: Keelan Patrick StokesThis was a very surpising Album far different from Sarah's earlier works...I loved the lyrics and alluring melodies. This clearly defines Sarah as a unique voice in this world of suger coated pop. She is honest and sustains her depth in each verse and I appricate her artistry beyond words. I am happy to see that there are still musicans out there who sing from their heart and it is truely a pleasure to escape into her world of profound elegance and honest emotion...Blessed be my dear lady...
chilling but deep
author: JoergAs a Tori fan of course I heard about Sarah Fimm. So I bought her new CD and I love it. It is a bit a quiet one, very chilling but deep music. I am suprised about the piano playing combined with the electronical parts. Now I have to buy her other 2 albums. I am very excited.
