Infectious melodies, expressive lyrics, wide-open guitars, a dynamic and driving rhythm section. This is the core of it. And it's extremely hard not to like.

Album Notes

Fin- The short Story
Marty Canniff. Artist, singer, songwriter, Chicago native. Started out performing in his living room, on the streets and in the subway. Meets fellow musician and guitar player Jonathan Finerty at a local open mic. They practice. Write songs. Play shows. Form a band. Chris Schuler on bass. A veteran of the Chicago music scene, honed his chops with Brando's Charm. Has a friend that plays drums. Jim Gifford. A heavy-hitter with a jazz background. It's a perfect mix.

They rehearse. Play shows. People talk. Fans increase. They cut their first album. Create a press kit. Short, fragmented sentences. They seek a deal. Make connections. Dream of world tours, green rooms and groupies...

The songs on their first CD reflect the eclectic styles, influences and backgrounds that each player lends: and create a sound that is uniquely Fin. Infectious melodies.. expressive lyrics...wide-open guitars... a dynamic and driving rhythm section. This is the core of Fin. And it's hard not to like.

Wow, what a great CD! Reminds me of a rare cassette I had in the good old days by a band called The Jockey Boys, impossible to find now. These guys really rock on this disc, I believe i be "goin' down" to buy another one of these babys. Any chance it's coming out on cassette?

This is a great CD. It's got a unique sound, but reminds me of the best qualities of several big bands. There's a Dave Matthews quality to the vocals, while the guitars are really perky and catchy, like the best "guitar" groups of the early 90's. The lyrics were original and fun. Highly recommend this CD: I bought two copies, one for me and one for my sister and her friends in college. And they love it!
