"Groove-centric, hook-heavy rock. A blend of Maroon 5 and the Police, though even that loose description may not be broad enough to capture the band's diversity." - Boulder Daily Camera.

Album Notes

Fina Dupa describes their music as "Funk-Rock-Fusion", but their sound is unique only to them. Sounding a little like Maroon 5 and Jamiroquai but mostly like Fina Dupa, they expand the boundaries of groove music by adding complex chordal structures, copious audience participation, tight arrangements, and a fast-moving set.

The new Fina Dupa recording, "Give It Back", showcases the band's artistic and visceral reach, including 11 songs ranging from throw-down funk to head-bobbing R&B, to lay-back reggae, and several points in between - including songs in a few styles that are too innovative to be yet named.

Devon Kurzweil, the band's guitarist, has been playing guitar in Denver for twenty years and leads the group's collaborative writing and arrangement efforts. Kurzweil previously played with Buckner Funken Jazz as well as Airtight Experiment, a project he shared with long-time collaborator and Fina Dupa lead vocalist Dan Levin. Kurzweil and Levin are joined by Will Greer, a veteran bass player from the Austin jazz, funk, and rock scene, along with Josh Kyser, who has played drums with a laundry list of Denver standout bands including Judge Roughneck and Bop Skizzum.

Fina Dupa brings something a little different, and very interesting. The experience is upbeat, musically interesting, and always accessible to the audience.
