A multiple award-winning songwriter, Alisa Fineman was busy pursuing a solo career when she crossed paths with City Folk in 1988 and a special connection was made. They recognized their kindred spirits- love of earth, family, friends, late nights around the kitchen table playing music with good food and wine. Kimball and Alisa began their own music collaboration and before long were performing for special events. Their styles compliment each other and entertain fans with Alisa’s gracious, down to earth style and Kimball’s quick wit and sensitivity.

Alisa's recent CD, Closing the Distance, produced by Alex de Grassi, is a collection of prayers, poems and love songs for everyone, with innovative arrangements of traditional and original songs from world music of the Jewish Diaspora. In addition to her CD’s Cup of Kindness and Better With Time, her songs have appeared on several CD compilations including New York's Fast Folk Magazine, Barnes and Noble A Chanukah Celebration, the Kate Wolf Retrospective CD(1997), The Women of Kerrville II and Octaves Beyond Silence , a Benefit For Women Survivors of Violence, with Ani Di Franco and the Indigo Girls.

Bammie (best of Bay Area) award-winning songwriter Kimball demonstrates his versatility on guitar, mandolin, mandola, dobro and banjo. He has appeared on many CD's as a session player. Kimball’s songs also appear on many CD compilations. Alisa and Kimball’s creativity give birth to an upbeat and meaningful performance that includes traditional and world music as well as their own mix of original and other favorite songs. In addition to their own careers, Alisa and Kimball have performed as members of the Cabrillo Symphonic Chorus at Carnegie Hall, and with John Gorka and Tom Paxton. Both are former members of Martin Simpson's Band of Angels. Their gorgeous harmonies, exquisite blend of acoustic instruments and insightful lyrics speak directly to the heart and refresh your take on life. Alisa and Kimball are good medicine for the soul.
