Album Notes

Hello to all of you and thanks for listening,
This album contains songs mostly written after the horrors of 9/11. I was angry, sad, confused and on some days simply grateful for what I had. I'm sure most of you went through many of these same emotions. I still don't quite know how to feel. Since then, I've written some more political songs and some very personal ones too. Check out www.lindafinkle.net for "Georgie Porgie," my anti-war song. I'm also starting to write for musical theatre. I hope that you enjoy my music and that your day is a great one! - Linda

Vocals are poor, as are acoustics. Maybe you can write and get someone else to sing for you.

A Happy Pop Album Underneath the Sadness
author: Craig's Music Club
Though a considerable portion of the songs are about September 11, that's only part of the album. Finkle has also written songs about her normal life and motherhood, and surrounded them with pop music that sounds as if it came from the more innocent part of the 1960s. The Monkees kept springing to mind. Although the Monkees were prefabricated merely to sell records to teenagers, one cannot deny the quality pop craftsmanship that was released under their moniker. Happy, jangly confections that were deliberately designed to make you feel good. "Beautiful Day" is a perfect example. It is a wonderful mood-setter. You could set your player to "repeat" and never leave the joyous feeling that tune gives. Silly little pop songs have their place just as much as serious tunes. Finkle would do well to skip the mourning and try to continue the Partridge Family's motto (to drop another pre-fab band name) of "Come on, get happy."
