ABOUT THE CD:
The final weeks of 2008 saw the single-handed creation of Finn’s independent record label Stickman Records and the release of his self-published debut the Settle EP, 8 songs of soothingly harmonic and finely crafted beauty. Settle showcases Daniel’s unique songwriting talent and his ability to find and project the lush originality in his musical and lyrical content. Featuring production and masterful string arrangements from Nizlopi’s John Parker (a veteran of over a decade’s success on the indie music scene), Settle is a captivating and attention grabbing demonstration of a young artist’s potential being fulfilled. The EP is already being talked about in the blogging community on sites like Slowcoustic, and is also receiving support through being a regular fixture on the homepage of his online shop providers Arkade.com.
ABOUT FINN DANIEL:
Finn Daniel writes and performs songs that move and provoke. At 24 Finn has developed a way of communicating with a thrilling honesty and a voice that touches the soul. An instinctive musician who started out as a classically trained piano player, Finn then embraced the acoustic guitar as the perfect partner for writing and performing his deeply personal songs. Raised in a large family where he says “everyone played or sang,” Finn is already an experienced writer and performer at the age of 24. Having paid his musical dues in open mic’s and local support slots, by the time he was 19 Finn was booking and playing his own gigs across the country.
This strong development trail has found Finn in some great musical company. With his career to date having seen him sharing concert bills with breakthrough artists like Duke Special, Nizlopi, and Beth Rowley, Daniel has clocked up a number of appearances at leading locations on the London music scene such as Indig02 at the 02 Arena, The Borderline, The Bedford, and Regal Rooms. Outside the metropolis he has developed a strong local following, playing at well known venues such as Worcester’s Marrs Bar, and Thekla, Bristol.
Embracing web 2.0’s liberation of musicians, Finn prides himself on offering as much content as possible for those who make the effort to come and see it. His official website and MySpace are full to bursting with free tracks, promo and live videos, and all the latest news in the words of the artist himself.

I have been a fan of Finns for years. He is very melodic, from the heart, and he expresses sadness, tenderness, inner life and the intrigue and mystery of romance poigniantly. I love the combination of strings and voice here. It's creative and magical. Check it out.

This stark, indie folk-pop album has some real charm and character. Armed with only acoustic guitar and voice (and some VERY sparse string accompaniment), Finn Daniel pushes the emotive quality of these captivating songs to the fore. His musical approach is both introspective and forceful. His fragile voice is coiled, ready to spring or go completely unhinged. The pulse of his precise rhythmic strumming (similar to Neutral Milk Hotel) lends these tunes a nervous urgency. But he is capable of great sensitivity as well, borrowing from the more subtle elements of Damien Rice or Swell Season. “Settle” is a testament to just how much can be done when you strip away the bells and whistles and simply play some damn good songs.
