Hooked! FinTan Live (New Release – August 2010)

Recorded in May before a live audience of 140+ FinTan fans, the new recording focuses on the energy of a live performance with FinTan. The band's second album with noted recording engineer and musician, Malkum Gibson, is full of high energy Irish music that puts the listener front and center of a live FinTan performance. This CD truly captures the experience
of a live pub gig with the crowd singing, pint glasses clinking and the band's big sound filling the room as they play song after song. This CD contains the band's most requested pieces like the Galway Girl and the Moonshiner. FinTan's vocal performance range continues to grow and mature as Karen Wohlafka beautifully demonstrates on Village on the Sand, Young Ned of Hill and the always popular Leaving of Liverpool. The addition of Keith Howard on bass guitar rounds out the rhythm section and along with Phil Reed on bohdran and percussion the band effortlessly blends beats and tempos traversing the range from traditional to modern rock. Fiddler Bryan Klopfenstein and whistle player Mark Reinemann dazzle listeners with their fast paced melodies adding mandolin, concertina and accordion lead to an already impressive list of fiddle and whistle tunes. Guitarist Pat Savelli's move to 12-string adds brightness and depth to the soundscape completing the bands striking sound. With Hooked! FinTan takes a big step forward and shares all of the experience with the listener.
