Album Notes

The Fireballs 7th Street Legends© identifies the vast number of singers, musicians, writers, producers, people that either recorded or were ‘behind the scenes’ as a catalytic influence on the musical contribution and function of the Norman Petty studio, 1313 W. 7th Street, Clovis, New Mexico, USA.

The main reason for this Cd was because of the demand for the song “Everybody Should Have Lived in the 50’s”. A few new recorded tracks have been included : “Indian Nation”, “Most All Of The Time” , “HarLeeGuitar” & “Bulldoggin’ “ (a country version of the original “Bulldog” 1960) and some of the tracks were previously released on the Fireballs / Fireball Country Cd.

The backup singers on “Everybody Should Have Lived in the 50’s” and “Most All Of The Time” are :
Gary and Ramona Tollett…the original backup singers on the Crickets monster hit “That’ll Be The Day”
The Roses - David Bigham and the late Robert Linville …backup singers on Buddy Holly / Crickets “It’s So Easy”, “Think It Over”, etc.
And yes, the real Peggy Sue…that Buddy Holly sang about !!
The musicians vary among the Fireballs recordings, however only 4 are of the 7th Street Legends : Chuck Tharp - guitar & vocals; Stan Lark - bass & vocals; George Tomsco - guitar & vocals; Jimmy Gilmer-guitar & vocals.
Other participating musicians are: Ron Cardenas - keyboard; Dan Aguilar - drums;
Dave Doyle - bass; Craig Packham - drums. Contributing recording engineers were Mark Neill, Johnny Mulhair, and Johnny Watson.

Thanks for everyone’s patience regarding this Cd project, and we dedicate this in love and hold in reverence the passing of other 7th Street Legends© :
Norman Petty, Vi Petty, Norma Jean Berry, Jimmy Self, Robert Linville, Chuck Tharp…we sure do miss you each and every one…wish we could do just one more session together…
George Tomsco
