Album Notes

Certificate of Authenticity: Having previously opened for acts as diverse as Jeff Buckley to Hammel On Trial, Fire-Dean's solo set accomplishes much of what those artists have but with a little more swing. In the spirit of the rock show, F-d dismantles his beats only to reassemble them live. Using foot pedals to trigger samples, as well as good ole fashioned neurosis to trigger a plethora of wildly unfounded insecurities, he ditched the idea of ever becoming a traditional singer/songwriter in favor of creating a show punctuated by cheap laughs, loops, and his trademark opera. A raconteur, who The Washington Post describes as 'one of the best songwriters in DC'. Before performing music Fire-Dean worked on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico for five years. Upon the passing of a family member he left Lousianna's oil fields, perhaps in part to follow where her spirit left off... Washington DC. Today when he's not writing and performing, F-d designs gardens in that city's landscape. For show times, mo betta medeya, go to www.firedean.com

Ready for Love
author: Bob Tolf
"Got my Custom Deluxe all gassed up and I'm ready for love, and all the rest is camouflage." Fire Dean is a master of the English language and he's a pretty damn good songwriter too. Love this CD.

Reminiscent of Frank Ghery, '60s urban poet.
author: Chris
Fire has a way with words and with word constructions. Especially pleasing is his affinity for rhyming vowel sounds as well as consonant sounds, a trick not everyone has in their songwriting toolkit. Plus, he's just funny! Worth every bit of a listen... and several relistens!

One of the most creative songs around must be Paper Airplane Pilot.
author: completely satisfied cd buyer
Paper Airplane Pilot has been on my lips nearly every morning upon rising since a week ago when it came in the mail. It is so unique, poignant, illustrious, romantic, nostalgic, and silly. A new listener would probably quickly like better than half of the songs on this disc.
