Firewood Revival 1996 (or thereabouts) - Present

Firewood Revival formed a long time ago in a farmhouse outside of Iowa City known as "Rancho Relaxo". FWR is a nebulous group formed around a core of 8 or so. Its members, however, have numbered in the teens of players at various times throughout its existence. FWR has been described, somewhat accurately, as a "Hillbilly Big Band", or "Honky-Tonk Swing". Members of FWR have also been concurrent members of numerous Iowa City Bands such as: Low Gravity Band, Eric Straumanis and the Douglas Leaders, Ben Eaton and the Dirt Cheap Band, Butter, The Bean Angels, What Cheer, Obelisk, The Mad River Band, Shoe Money, and High and Lonesome. FWR now has members in 9 states and 2 countries who gather periodically throughout the year to perform. Recently, FWR has concluded its 7th annual Tour- comprising of a full week and two weekends over the 4th of July holiday. FWR has four CD's: Gundog (1998), From Here to There (2000), and Record Time (2002). Peep Show (2004) is a compilation of the 14 favorite songs, in order of popularity, from the first three albums as voted upon by the FWR and the friends of FWR.

FWR is a homegrown, grassroots group, driven by the need to write, perform, and generally rock out. Support for FWR comes from Rock is Dead Records of Dubuque Iowa.

Peep show may contain snippets of profanity here and there- especially "New York Bastard."
