The North Texas band Fishing for Comets is made up of Camille Cortinas (vocals/guitar), Sam Romero (guitar),Aaron Thomas (drums), and Gary Rivers (bass/melodica/accordian).
Although, as a duo, Cortinas and Romero have been writing together since 2002, this latest incarnation of their work has added new life and textures to the pallet. At the 2005 & 2006 Dallas Observer Music Awards the band won the award for Best Folk Acoustic act and received a nomination for Best Female Vocalist (Camille Cortinas)two years in a row.
2006, the band will see the release of its first full length album "Scattered Among the Archipelago", recorded at Purple Pear Studios, and also compose original music for a documentary by Joe Willix entitled " 5, 6, 7, 8...A Year in the Life of the Coppell House of Dance". Good times to come!
"Although super-positive girlie pop usually makes us want to run and hide, it's not hard to like Dallas band Fishing for Comets. Camille Cortinas is one of few people who can pull off hap-hap-happy lyrics. Why? Because we believe her". Hunter Hauk- Quick Magazine

always makes me smile

Everytime I listen to this album I feel happy, alive, and surprisingly romantic. The lyrics are magical and the music is so good you can't help but dance. Which can be dangerous for some like myself. Camille has a pure and captivating voice. She portrays the innocence of her heart in every song. An original album.. a definite good buy.

THOROUGHLY ENJOYING FISHING
author: ManyaRepnikova
This album is a must have for anyone who needs a healthy pick me up. Camille's vocals are dreamy, alive, and full of heart. Somehow everytime I listen to this album I feel more energetic, alive and postitive throughout the day. There are tracks on this album that stop you in your tracks just to listen to the lyrics. Tracks 2 (Lies) and 11 (Still Below You) are perfect examples. Acrobat has a magic all on it's own. Great music for the whole family. Excellent!

I realized that I simply must own a copy of this album, and I'm psyched that I have it....its just such a happy sounding album...not a bad song on it...and a great purchase...
