The Fit's Gas & Electric was recorded by Matt Barrick and Paul Maroon of the Walkmen over a three day period in July 2003 at Marcata Studios in Harlem New York. While sharing the stage with some of today's biggest Rock acts, the Fit's stylistic influence would help shape the future of some of today's biggest stars including ; We Are Scientists, The Giraffs, The Walkmen, and The Natural History, all of whome opened for the Fit at one time or another. As fate would have it, Gas & Electric was the only album produced by This Legendary Rock Trio. The Band was often Marred with Internal problems despite their tremendous popularity on the Club scene. However short, the band's legacy remains incredible. The Fit dispanded shortly after the Gas & Electric release in 2003. Lead Singer and Guitarist Nithin Kalvakota returned to his Mid-western roots where he has since commanded a strong presence as a solo artist and with his new band Wet Leather. Look for Kalvakota's self entitled solo project to hit stores this year and in the mean time, check out a rare recording of one of the most influential bands of today's music scene. It also has one of the best album covers of all time!
