Italian review

"I hope this collection of songs may take you away to a pleasant place in your mind. Each song reflects an aspect of transition - whether geographically, through personal growth or through changes in relationships." Nel 1995 fonda The Elktones assieme a Mark Rashid, Brad Doggett e Dick Orleans. Complimenti Brad. Take Me Away e Small Town sono disponibili presso www.tropicowboy.com

flexibility in genres
author: Doug Smith
Take Me Away, the first solo release by Brad Fitch, is a fun and rolicking, yet soulful collection of songs. It will have you humming and singing along on some cuts, and then carefully listening to introspective yet universally-meaningful lyrics on other songs. He has crafted an album with the common lyrical thread of transition tying each piece to the next. Nonetheless, the CD showcases his musical flexibility in genres including Folk, Country Western, and Creole/Rockabilly. The collection is a cohesive whole. Fitch's musical roots can be traced to the Beatles, Gordon Lightfoot, the Everley Brothers, John Prine, Carole King, Doo-Wop groups, Jimmy Buffet, and John Denver. Despite frequent comparisons to Denver (in appearance as well!) Fitch's music remains his own: at times silly, at times profound, but always original.
