Album Notes

Fitzgerald is a duo from Minneapolis, Minnesota, who create original indie folk pop music. Their songs comprise several musical styles, and find a comfortable balance between well-crafted traditional elements and daring experimentation.

Nathan and Mandy's soaring, interweaving vocal melodies create an arresting musical human interaction which is complimented by guitar, bass, cello, drums, sampled submarine sonar, and more. The result is honest music that portrays powerful moods ranging from the jubilant to the defeated, from darkness to dawn and back again.

Backed by a full band for most live performances, Fitzgerald have been carving a path through the Midwest since 1998. Light a Match and Burn It Slowly is their third release after two self-released albums. Bicycle was released in 2000, and Songs For Departure was written and released prior to moving to India in 2001 to do intense humanitarian work.

Fitzgerald has shared the stage with several acts including Over the Rhine, Live in Japan, Ballydowse, Mike Gunther and His Restless Souls, Tora Tora Torrence, Camp Surreal, Nina Pinta Santa Maria, Jason Elstad, Poles Apart, and Ben Kyle.
