Genuine Alaskan Old-Time Music. From "The Roots of Bluegrass", this is dance music in overdrive. One recent reviewer exclaimed, "there's no need to reach for the old Carter Family 78s or buy a Gillian Welch CD".

notes
Five Buck Fiddle plays high energy, old time dance music -- from "the roots of bluegrass" -- of several styles. Founded by fiddler "Uncle Buck", Five Buck Fiddle is based in Fairbanks Alaska, and has been playing throughout Alaska for the past seven years. Past appearances include dozens of nightclubs and taverns, music festivals, political rallies, fundraisers and square dances.
"The only thing better than Five Buck Fiddle on this CD is being in the audience to hear them live. Now that's some REAL fun!"
-- Mike Flynn, The Folk Sampler on Public Radio, Siloam Springs, Arkansas
"...That's why Five Buck Fiddle is such a great record - seven Alaskan's from Fairbanks playing old time string band music, and playing it very well... there's no need to reach for the old Carter Family 78s or buy a Gillian Welch CD."
-- Son Henry, CD Reviews, Alaska This Month, Anchorage Alaska

These guys were the best old time band in Alaska.
author: EdWhiteThis hard working band put together an album comparable to the best in their genre. They play just like they are either on the back porch or at a good dance. Listen to their music and your feet will want to immediately take over.
Super cd. I'll enjoy it.
author: PhilI've heard them a few times live here in Alaska and they play my kind of music.
