FIVE STAR TRAILER PARK - BIO
Five Star Trailer Park has a knack for writing catchy tunes. At live shows, it's common to see fans bobbing their heads, tapping their feet and singing along as the band drops into one of its trademark driving songs. At the end of the show, fans leave the venue singing many of the night's melodic hooks and choruses.
"Once I listened to the lyrical genius, creative melodies and distinct guitar playing I fell in love with it. It is the next big thing...move over Dave Matthews and John Mayer...Five Star Trailer Park is here." -CD Baby.com
Five Star Trailer Park is a six piece rock band from Toronto, Ontario. Seasoned veterans of singer/songwriter events and indie band nights, Nick Spence and Simon Greer put together Five Star Trailer Park in the winter of 2001. Although their acoustically driven folk-rock suited smaller venues, the band began experimenting with a louder more aggressive sound as the venues grew in size. The band soon recruited fellow musicians Jeremy Elliott (drums) and Dan Black (bass) from the local Toronto band Staggered Crossing, as well as good friend and producer Paul Gorrie (rhythm guitar/vocals). What has emerged is a sound noticeably more mature and confident in its originality and appeal.
"These guys are tight!" says Mark Graham, a senior marketer on the Toronto scene.
The band is currently putting the final touches on their second studio album, due out in mid-April. Under the production Paul Gorrie and Sterling Sound's Glen Healy, the group has taken a much heavier and more aggressive approached to this album. Packed with musical complexity and beautiful, soaring vocal and instrumental melodies, this new collection of songs promises to be diverse, interesting and very accessible to music fans.
Good friends around Toronto describe Five Star Trailer Park as "a pretty good band."
"I saw them a few weeks ago, and they really didn't fuck up at all," explains ex-friend Edward Maher.
With a winter tour across Ontario, a CD launch at the Reverb in April, then back to the road to tour again this summer, Five Star Trailer Park is looking forward to a rocking 2004.

This album is AMAZING. The song writing is strong and the lyrics relevant

How could I give this album anything less than 5 stars. The provocative melodic guitar that greets listeners to the album explodes into a wall of sound that is Surrender the first tune on the album. It progresses along nicely with strong harmonies and driving drums and bass. This album is already on my top 5 for albums this year. GET IT NOW, I highly recommend it...oh and they are absolutely captivating live.
