BACKGROUND
Francisco Herrera directs CAMINANTE Cultural Work, dedicated to strengthening working people through retreats, workshops, conferences and concerts. Music provides the venue by which folks can bring their communities together to have a good time, listen to very soulful music and look at their community, deciding what it is we need to change. When people get organized leaders tremble and behave. Francisco's interpretation of original and traditional songs helps us believe in each other.
Francisco has been writing and performing for over 35 years, always at the local community level. A true weaver of conscience and story, moving audiences, large and small to work toward a society where there is food, education and land for all, relations based on equality and the peace which results from these. There is a human dream for which we all strive. Francisco's music and performances helps us see it a little more clearly. for more info: www.myspace.com/franciscoherrera or www.caminantecultural.com (under construction)

Moved to Tears and Action
author: Leisa FaulknerBefore I met Francisco I knew nothing of the impending coup in Haiti. Just a few months after hearing him, I found myself marching through the streets of Cap Haitian with thousands of pro-democracy activists, serving as a human shield for the legitimate elected officials who had been forced to take refuge in the jungle. Since then I have been back seven times over the past three years to deliver medical and school supplies to the children. The power of Francisco's genius is not only his ability to move people's hearts, but also how his heart is able to move people into action.
“Francisco Herrera empowers our communities
author: Emily Classen“Francisco Herrera empowers our communities through our most powerful resources, music and each other.” ~ Emily Claassen
a capella danny boy tugs on the heart strings.
author: guillermofrancisco is truly in a zone: one of a kind music, heart felt with lots of creative, unexpected riffs. i'm a sappy sentimentalist, but his 'danny boy' is surprising and touching.
Songs are wrapped in beauty!
author: DaniellaI actually saw Senor Herrera perform at my church this past weekend. He is an amazing musician whose songs come straight from his open and warm soul. The cd is amazing and needs to be heard for it's originality and energy enriched sound.

Incomparable!
author: Derrick Tynan-ConnollyThis CD is a journey of heart, imagination and soul. Francisco's voice is incomparable and moves me deeply. I concur with the previous post about the version of Danny Boy. The BEST I've ever heard. I have purchased this CD for many friends and family members.
Excellent, soulful folk music
author: JoeHigh quality, heartful singing. Francisco's version of "Danny Boy" is unique and one of the best renditions I've heard. If you have to opportunity to hear Francisco live you will not be disappointed.
