Album Notes

FLASHPOT THEATER - Think of the Possibilities - There is no way to describe this album. It's rock and roll. It's a comedy. It's a musical. It's not dirty. But I don't think your parents would approve. Maybe they would, if they were hip. And I wouldn't play it for anyone under 10. (It's probably a PG-13 rating. You know, language and nudity and all that nonsense about the frog.) It's not about sex. Not entirely. It's not about religion. Sure, God makes an appearance, but she's cool about it and she even sings. So does our devil. And she tries to seduce our hero. All the women love our hero. Even the game show host loves our hero, but then Don loves everyone. And it's no worse than anything you would see on television. Or maybe, it's precisely that bad.

Listen to the samples. It's two CDs, and one of which is enhanced with all sorts of goodies (such as slide shows, MP3s, script, biographies, blah, blah, blah. It's 131 minutes long and flies like a fast car on a smooth road with minimal road kill. Make no mistake. This is a rock album. Les Paul or Strats played through Marshall amps. Throbbing bass. Pounding drums. Girls singing about Nasty Boys, Arson, S&M, Nitrous oxide, I Love Lucy, Game Shows, Shotgun weddings, Slot machines turning into Vegas Showgirls. And then it gets weird!

Now for some background on the people involved in this project. There's me, GARY JINKS, formerly of Decadence (which is not on CD Baby yet, but will be in 2004) and Tandem Deluxe (which is on CD Baby), featuring NEIL KEENAN, who is portraying our degenerate hero (our favorite toad). He is in love with seven girls, for starters, not counting his attorney, Michelle, who is also his ex-girlfriend. Michelle is played by HEATHER BRAOUDAKIS and Neil's girl friends are played by MARILYN DESTEFANO (check her out on CD Baby), MONICA JINKS (check her out on CD Baby), TERRI VIRGILIO, ANGELA CLIFF (check her out on CD Baby when the Decadence releases come out in 2004), MARGE MANGELSDORF, MARY LOU ALHENIOUS & SANDY KEENAN.

The rest of the cast includes JOAN SPATAFORA (God), DEBRA DENOON (the Devil), RON KURZAWSKI (the bailiff), DON KRIST (game show host), PETE MAURER (announcer), DEBBIE KAPPA (Dr. Marapolis), TERRI WORMAN (Dr. Crane), SHEILA KEENAN (Neil's Mom), WILLIAM DESTEFANO (young Neil) & ROXANNE SCARPINITI (Little Time). Rounding out the multiple roles are JULIE COOPER, CRAIG J. ENGEL, GINA PERREAULT, KAREN PTACK, VERGILLIO, BETTY VITALE, MIKE VITALE & DOUG ZELDEN. There's a bunch of musicians like DEAN BATTAGLIA, BOB ELLSWORTH and DAVE TUMA to help me out and BRYAN PRICE did all the engineering and played all the drums.

This musical is not quite like anything I've heard before. It belongs on stage, taking the rest of you on this rock-n-roller-coaster ride! Fun stuff, great music, and characters to fantasize over...
