Flatland Harmony Experiment is a bluegrass driven string band based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. In the first year of it's existence the Flatland Harmony Experiment has worked relentlessly across the midwest and has been received with open arms. FHE has played over twenty music festivals, opened for numerous national acts, recorded, mixed and released an all original full length CD entitled "On Our Way", and showcased their music at an official after hours showcase during the IBMA.
Flatland Harmony Experiment is Scott Nelson on bass, Kris Potts on Mandolin, and Johnny Plott on Banjo. FHE is rich in three part harmony and focuses on sterling musicianship and song craft.
On Our Way is a snapshot into the music of Flatland Harmony Experiment. With all members contributing in writing and arranging On Our Way takes listeners through a wide landscape of acoustic music. From straight bluegrass to a latin jazz groove to a blues ballad many styles are touched upon. On Our Way was done live in a studio with the band playing live in a circle configuration around microphones. This is the band in it's purest element capturing the live energy in the room just like how music used to be recorded. Enjoy :)
