Eric Nicholas is made of 75% water. But, you wouldn’t know it from looking at him. Despite his overwhelming liquid consistency, the singer manages to find unique melodies and rhythms floating around inside of him, and uses these to create an exciting blend of electro dance-pop music.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada, Eric cut his teeth playing gigs in shady bars while still in junior high school. After a number of years as the lead singer of Winnipeg funk-rock band, Flavour, Eric began work on his first solo effort. The resulting disc was titled ‘Flavour vs. Eric Nicholas’, and featured eight of Eric’s compositions. His songs far exceeded his own expectations of success and gained the songwriter a large following in cyberspace. The songs from his solo debut continue to get steady radio play and have been placed on the soundtracks of a Canadian TV series and an American movie production. His songs have also garnered him numerous awards and accolades. The listeners of ‘Garageband.com’ have awarded Eric Nicholas with various honors, including choosing two of his songs as the 4th and 6th all time best pop vocal performances in the website’s history.
In February of 2009, Eric Nicholas released ‘Words and Sounds’, his first full-length solo album. The project consists entirely of songs he penned over the previous few years while living on the outskirts of Tokyo. Eric’s songs have been influenced by his life in Japan, as well as by his experiences while traveling the globe to nearly 50 countries. The resulting 11-song album is an eclectic mix, ranging from upbeat electronic dance tracks, smothered in sexuality, to laidback, emotional pop songs.
