Album Notes

"Dave Fleschner plays his Hammond B-3 with a vengeance and fury, accentuated by the swiss-made movements of drummer Ken Ollis. Playing a wicked guitar is none other than Billy Hagen" - Bob Cooper, Portland Online Musicnet

The Dave Fleschner Trio
(503)349-7883

The Dave Fleschner Trio uses the sophistication of the jazz idiom to create vibrant music that is fresh and revitalizing. Their funky and infectious grooves have audiences throughout the Northwest tapping their feet and screaming for more. At the core of the group is the Hammond B-3 Organ playing of Dave Fleschner. His retro style unites the drum-set mastery of Ken Ollis with the visceral guitar playing of Billy Hagen

Dave Fleschner has refined his distinctive style performing with jazz, blues and R&B talents including Dan Balmer, Dan Faehnle, Mel Brown, Paul Delay, Linda Hornbuckle, John Gross, Rob Scheps, Carlton Jackson, Kathy Walker, Chris Mayther and Monti Amundson. Fleschner's unique musical vision also draws from experience with rock and reggae bands: The African Kings, Shamir, and Uncle Earl.

Fleschner is also a founding member of Groove Revelation, a jazz influenced ensemble of composers. Two of Fleschner's compositions, "Never Been to Italy" and "Hip Hop Hey," have been featured on the jazz radio station, KMHD, and Fleschner has made numerous appearances on "Homegrown Jazz with Mary Burlingame."

Guitarist Billy Hagen has been performing for 30 years. Master of all styles from Hendrix to Wes Montgomery to Chet Atkins, Billy has performed with Rock and Roll legend Chuck Berry as well as with local jazz stars Mel Brown and George Mitchell. He currently plays with his own band, The Trip in addition to the Dave Fleschner Trio. A high-energy entertainer with a Rolling Stones kind of twinkle, he's some kind of guy.

Ken Ollis is a young drummer of phenomenal skill and has performed with many jazz greats as well, including: Bud Shank, Julian Priester, Ingrid Jensen, Eric Reed, Kenny Werner, Judy Silvano, John Gross, John Stowell, and Darrell Grant. He can currently be found performing with Big Monti Amundson, Pepe and the Bottle Blondes, Jane Wright, Rob Scheps' Salon des Refuses and the Dave Fleschner Trio.

The Dave Fleschner Trio can be found performing throughout the Northwest and is frequently featured on the jazz radio station, KMHD.
