Disproportionately Happy

I am so excited to find this here! Flight of Mavis was one of my favorite bands in high school and I wore out my cassette, and lamented that I was not old enough to ever see them live (since most venues they played were 21+). I have often thought longingly of it and wished they were still around. Like so many other people here, I just decided to randomly Google them and holy heck! Here they are. Just another reason CD Baby rocks.

Back in the early ninties i was a college DJ for East Stroudsburg University when I was introduced to FOM by a roomate. I have spent 15 years looking for my cassette until I happened to use Google to search. My only regret is I never saw them live!!!!

Flight of Mavis was my favorite band in the late 80s-early 90s. My friends and I would go see them every opportunity we had. It was so much fun to have some beers and dance to Mavis. This is the 4th time I have bought this album (2 worn out cassettes, a vinyl record, and now the CD). I was so happy this was released on CD (with bonus tracks!) so that I could have it on mt iPod. Now I have the ultimate Flight of Mavis/Buzz Zeemer/Frank Brown playlist spanning the years....interesting to see how Frank matured musically. This first record is still my favorite...jangly pop/rock played with passion and spirit. Their shows were the best and are among my favorite college memories....you need this if you are a fan of early REM or the Feelies and the like.....

Cleaning out an old drawer, I found a beat-up cassette of this CD. I googled Flight Of Mavis and found it! This is a fantatsic CD, not a clunker in the bunch. My second date with my wife was to see FOM open for Marshall Crenshaw at the Troc in Philly sometime in the late '80's. These guys should have been famous. CD Baby rocks!!
