Hammondbeat’s own monster band: Phat Fred (Dave Wilkinson), Leslie Overdrive (Craig Kristensen and Kapper-Dapper) and The Link Quartet (Paolo “Apollo” Negri) have built one of the funkiest soul organ tributes of all time. Fat Lip features classics from 3 of the greatest vocal groups ever.

Sir Joe “Free Soul” Quarterman, The Coasters, and The Pointer Sisters are interpreted by some of the sweetest and most soulful vocalists working today: The Sweet Divines and The Nouvellas (both featuring former members of NYC’s The Dansettes); The Diplomettes (Iowa City); Corrina Greyson and Sophie Faricy (London).

As of this writing, FLmL have been featured on 8 consective weeks of the The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show (BBC 6music), which Craig has named one his favourite bands, an honour also bestowed upon all 3 of the bands of the FLmL core.

Paolo “Apollo” Negri will be playing the 2009 SxSW festival in Austin, TX and will perform an FLmL set with The Diplomettes, vocalists for The Diplomats of Solid Sound, who will also be performing at the Hammondbeat showcase.
