Album Notes

This first release from the Northwest rock trio Floater sets the pace for what would soon become an impressive line of great recordings.

Floater, featuring Robert Wynia (lead vocals, bass), Peter Cornett (drums, backing vocals), and Dave Amador (guitar), united in Eugene, Oregon to put together their own special blend of pulsing tribal beats and catchy melodic vocals to create this, their first full length release.

"Sink" is a concept album that seamlessly and theatrically moves through its storyline using a massive variety of sounds from somber strings, blistering guitar, piano, atmospheric drones and even a bass guitar played with a screwdriver. And all the while layered with hypnotic, powerful and melodic vocals. This was to define Floater's signature sound for future recordings.

Recorded in Eugene, Oregon with select tracks mixed in Portland by Drew Canulette (Soundgarden, Nirvana, Mudhoney), Floaters' "Sink" would soon find it's way to college radio and send the band on their first tour of the US. "Sink" was nominated to the preliminary level of the Grammy Awards for Best New Album.
