Album Notes

Following their move to Portland, Oregon, Floater released their third full-length record, "Angels in the Flesh and Devils in the Bone." Returning to their strength for creating concept albums, "Angel's" brought a new vibe to Floater. It wasn't long before widespread audiences came to embrace what has now become the band's trademark - their versatility.
Working with Bill Barnett at Gung Ho Studios (Tori Amos, Cherry Poppin' Daddies) and Drew Canulette (Soundgarden, Nirvana, Mudhoney), Floater takes a more "rock opera" approach with this album and comes out with a powerful blend of music and lyrics.

A True Masterpiece

Floater has captured the hearts of Oregonians everywhere. Their fluid and sometimes surreal sound blends such lyrical gems such as \"Medicine Woman\" and \"American Theatric\" into memorable pieces. I had originally heard of them in High School and since then I\'ve fallen in love with each and every one of their albums. I hope they remain on top for a long time to come.

Another soul adjustment from Floater, one of the Northwest's most popular, reputable bands, both highly respected by critics and amateurs. With a constantly-evolving palette of harmonies and drive, painting emotion and conviction in their notable way, Floater reaches more towards the subtle and the brooding in this album, turning its attention to the shadows cast by their earlier works, thus opening up to the full spectrum of their musical expression. However, this is not just a complementary album, but a cultivated pinnacle of muse on its own terms.

Floater is a band with a musical style that's difficult to classify. I have seen them described as "post-grunge," but that is very misleading. They sound much less "mainstream" than bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, etc. If their musical style must be classified at all, it is "progressive metal" similar to Uriah Heep. Their music is extremely "heavy" sounding, as this record shows. This is a GREAT CD filled with MORE Floater for anyone who hasn't seen them live.
