Album Notes

Toronto singer/songwriter, Andrea Florian has been writing and performing for the last 10 years. Picture This is her 4th full length album to date.Produced by the acclaimed John Switzer (Jane Siberry), Picture This was a labour of love that was in the works for three years. Florian's best work yet, the record is a natural progression of her trademark folk-pop sound and honest poetic lyricism. Featuring collaborations with local guitarist Tracy Jones and several high-profile musical guests (including Big Sugar's Al Cross & Kurt Swinghammer), Picture This is the latest chapter in a remarkable musical career.

With three other well-received albums on her own Bathsheba Records label, Florian is the epitome of the hardworking indie artist, booking her own tours to Australia (where she appeared on the national music channel), the U.K., and Europe, as well as frequent trips to the U.S. Her enthusiasm and perseverance even landed her a coveted full-page feature in Billboard Magazine, which wrote, "Florian's career is heating up."

A three year hiatus from the music scene & the grind of touring has enabled Florian to recharge her musical batteries. She has written enough new songs for several more albums, including many works that revisit her first love... the piano.

Witty, Soulful, Powerful, Raw - Buy It!
author: Tiffany Hiles
I've been a fan of Andrea's since a fan passed me a mix tape of her work, including selections from Truths. After buying Truths, my best description for the uneducated new potential fan is to take Little Earthquakes era Tori Amos, dash it with a heart helping of Sarah Slean and Not a Pretty Girl-era Ani Difranco, and blend in Andrea's unique flow and style. From the playful Queen of Sheeba to the uplifting Emma, from the power of Missions ("On a mission for your soul, you turn to me, hungry...") to the gut wrenching self-realization of the title track, this Cd is a fine first effort. If you like this, do yourself an enormous favour and head to Andrea's site for a copy of Somehurrygood as well. Fabulous woman, fabulous music.
