Hailing from the frosty shores of Lake Superior, Floydian Slip is one of the most innovative bands around. Combining the eclectic guitar and vocals of Andy Noyes, the hypnotic rhythms of drummer Jeff Kriner, the razor-sharp playing of guitarist and singer Olaf Kirsten, and the bone-shaking lines of bassist Marlin Ledin, Floydian Slip blend a sharp pop sensibility with serious improvisatioal abilities. Sets move from well crafted pop songs to extended improv jams to pulsating reggae and back again, often without stopping for air. Songs become other songs on the fly, funk becomes reggae becomes rock becomes dub becomes jazzy blues becomes something entirely new, and a concert or dance becomes an event.
