Album Notes

Frankie McNeill and The Counts from Charleston, SC were a popular group in the Charleston club market in the late 60's, 70's and 80's. They were the house band at such venues as The Caravan Club, The Merchant Seamans Club, The Harbor House, Mr. Sam's, The Riverview Holiday Inn, Swingles and frequently seen at the beach at The Old Side on the Isle of Palms as well as The Seaside. In the early 80's, they took their group to Myrtle Beach and were seen regularly at 2001, The Afterdeck, and at the Holiday Inns on Myrtle Beach. They opened for The Chairmen of the Board, The Tams, Jerry Butler and many of the classic leading beach music artists. In 1983, they were nominated for the BMA Single of the Year for their song “Four Leaf Clover”, which was also a top ten requested song at many of the Carolina beach music stations. After a 10 year hiatus, lead singer and drummer Frankie McNeill has gone back into the studio with some original Counts members, Robert and Debbie McNeill to produce this new album of 12 original tracks. The first single “Who’s That Girl” is getting good reviews from many of the Beach Music Air Force radio stations.
