FN-Co. is a dynamic and genre-melting 4-piece band from the NYC Tri-State Area consisting of Lead Vocalist/Rhythm Guitarist/Principle Songwriter Fred Niznik (Brooklyn, NY), Lead Guitarist Stevie G. (CT), Bassist/Background Vocalist Mike “MaseOnTheBass” Mason (NJ), and Drummer Pete Cetinich (NJ). Their sound can be described as “Sexy Pop/Rock, with tasteful elements of Jam, Alternative/AAA, Blues, Latin and R&B” all rolled into one distinct “FN” Sound. Their songs are energetic yet smooth, danceable and at times chill, complex, but universally accessible and catchy. Drawing comparisons from legendary acts such as The Beatles and Santana to modern-rock radio staples such as Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, and Maroon 5, FN-Co. are poised to become not only a commercial success, but a national touring act as well.
Off the strength of front-man Fred Niznik’s debut album, “The Renaissance LP” (which received national critical acclaim from publications such as Performing Songwriter and Amplifier, as well as being fully-licensed by MTV for shows such as The Real World), the band toured extensively throughout the country over the past year. In 2005, they made stops at such festivals as TN’s Bonnaroo (at the now infamous "Acoustic Tent"), Indy's Midwest Music Summit and NAMM (w/Brazilian Girls, Louis XV, Tegan & Sara, Rhymefest, and more), Cincinnati’s Midpoint Music Festival, Harrisburg's (PA) Millennium Music Conference, the fabulous Dewey Beach (DE) festival series, and NJPAC in Newark, NJ (venue that hosted Bob Dylan, Alicia Keys, etc.), among others. The band also established solid roots at such esteemed NYC/NJ venues such as The Knitting Factory, Piano’s, CBGB’s, The Lion’s Den, and Mexicali Blues Café. FN-Co. firmly believe that to make it in the music business, a band must first develop themselves as a TRUE ARTIST through means of grass roots marketing and constant artist development.
After the summer of ’05, Fred Niznik & Company decided to become a full-time band, appropriately titled FN-Co. The band has re-enlisted producer/engineer Ariel Borujow, who has worked with the likes of Black Eyed Peas, The Strokes, and Ryan Adams (as well as producing and mixing Niznik’s “The Renaissance LP”), to execute the same role with their new album, which is scheduled for release in Summer ’06. Live versions of songs on the record such as “Feel Your Fire”, “UR4Me”, & “Mesmerized” are currently blazing thru iPods across the country due to thousands of downloads from the band's popular MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/fnco). With Borujow on board, FN-Co.’s sound has been curtailed in the studio to meet each band member’s best asset: Fred’s silky smooth, emotional vocals and danceable rhythm guitars, Stevie G.’s melodic and energetic lead guitar work, which are flawlessly supported by Mase’s groovy, mesmerizing bass licks and Pete’s tight and rhythmic drumming.
In order to celebrate the release of FN-Co.’s new EP, over 250 fans came out to a huge NYC Record Release Party at CODA (venue that has hosted moe., Tea Leaf Green, Cyndi Lauper, etc.) on July 20, 2006. The rest of ’06 and into ’07 will take them on a musical journey through colleges, universities, regional and NYC area dates, festivals, showcases, and more.
