Album Notes

After spreading the old-time music and square dance gospel across the country the Foghorn Stringband returned home to record their new album "Reap What You Sow"

This CD was recored live with one microphone kindly (and bravely lent to us by Klaus Heyne. The recording took place at Billy Oskay's Big Red Studio in Corbet Oregon. Alan Garren of Waltzing Bear Audio positione the microphone and the band. He tured the knobs, pushed the buttons and otherwise engineered the recording.

The Foghorn Stringband spent the summer or 2004 performing at some of the nations largest folk festivals and with Dirk Powell and Riley Baugus as the Dirk Powell Band.

The Foghorn Stringband is considered one of the best old-time bands performing in the country right now. After Dirk Powell met and performed with The Foghorn Stringband at the 2002 Pick-A-Thon in Portland Oregon he knew he needed to take these boys on the road with him.

The Foghorn Stringband has been recently featured on Public Radio International's Studio 360, The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Oregon Public Broadcasting's "Oregon Art Beat", as well as in Sing Out Magazine, Dirty Linen, Bluegrass Unlimited and the Old Time Herald.

"Hip or not, there's no getting around the fact that the Foghorn Stringband kicks major ass. All of these musicians are exceptional players, and Rattlesnake Tidal Wave hums along like a perfectly tuned engine." - The Tablet - Seattle WA

The Foghorn Stringband is:
Stephen "Sammy" Lind - fiddle and vocals
Caleb Klauder - madolin and vocals
Kevin Sandri - guitar and vocals
Taylor Grover Jr - banjo
Brian Bagdonas - bass

The Foghorn Stringband perfomed at the following festivals in 2004: The San Francisco Bluegrass and Old Time Festival, The Alaska Folk Festival, The Willamette Valley Folk Festival, The Sioux River Folk Festival, the Minnesota Bluegrass and Old-time Festival, The Sante Fe Old Time and Bluegrass Festival and The Chicago Folk and Roots Festival.
