NYC-based trombonist Nelson Foltz and Berlin-based sound artist Tom Lynn have collaborated since 2003 on 'Still Life' - a series of original recordings exploring quietly unobtrusive but musically interesting soundscapes. The series defies easy categorization fusing elements of ambient, fourth world, minimalism, electronica, and even modern impressionism.

'Second Interlude' is the fifth release in the series. It is a mixture of newly recorded material and re-imagined sounds from the other four recordings. The entire cd was composed as one continuous piece, separated into 5 shorter tracks.

As with all of the other Still Life recordings, Second Interlude was recorded without using electronic instruments. The soundscapes were created using a variety of acoustic instruments, ambient recordings and household objects - sometimes recorded and processed in unorthodox ways.
