Album Notes

Foma loves you, so we wrote and recorded this story about someone escaping a deteriorating earth in hopes of starting a new life on one of the moons of mars.

includes performances by Heather Trost of A Hawk and a Hacksaw, Isaac Bonnell of The Foxx and The Alarm Clocks, and Heath Dauberman of Nels Andrews' El Paso Eyepatch!

The album comes with illustrations by Mekala and Megan McGaughy

Hope you enjoy.

"...a deeply conceptual soundscape...it is a disturbing, apocalyptic chronicle of one man's escape from earth to a moon orbiting Mars. Complete with thoughtful lyrics and simple, haunting string arrangements, it has enough heavy vibrations to scare the hell out of you, as well as just enough clever pop to keep you on the ground. It is, in all honesty, the ideal soundtrack for a Kurt Vonnegut novel." -Weekly Alibi

"delicate and endearing music on the fringe of pop...soft acoustic plucks and warm cello notes frame Ed Burch's lilting, androgynous vocals. When art that comes out of foreseeing the end of the world is as beautiful as this, then it's art that we console ourselves with. Phobos is like putting sugar on a fatal wound instead of salt." -Albuquerque Journal
