The tasty, soulful dance music legend hails from Ossining, New York born to the parents of diverse nationalities. She grew up in an environment that encouraged many artistic pursuits. In addition to developing her vocal talents, Fonda became proficient on keyboards, violins, and both trap and percussion drums. Combining her sexy sound to hot dance tracks, she is not your "usual vocalist."
Following her natural instincts, Fonda embarked upon a singing career that has already produced an enviable reputation. She has performed numerous engagements with renowned artists such as Isaac Hayes, Rick James, Grand Master Flash, Curtis Blow, The Fat Boys, Bambatta, and the late Phyllis Hyman...on. She has toured the US and Europe singing back up with artists such as "Doctors Orders" Carol Douglas, "Drowning in the sea of love" Joe Simon, "Turn the Beat Around" Vicky Sue Robinson and has worked with Muhammad Ali in presenting a spectacular gospel concert at the New York's Felt Forum. She recently dazzled New York City, performing on the same bill with Mary J. Blidge, Carl Thomas and Colonel Abrams in a concert for NYC's KISS FM Radio Station.
Although Fonda has been swept into the entertainment business, her heart and skills also belong to other artistic endeavors such as: specializing in Wood work, studio engineering , set designing, graphic artist interior & exterior designing, mural painting, as well as fashion and jewelry designing. She designed for various well-known artists like B.T. Express, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Anna Horseford.
With Don Armando, Fonda burst onto the music scene and was introduced to the world with the song "Deputy of Love" a smash hit that climbed fast to the number #1 Position on Billboard dance charts. Fonda later went on to appear with "Kid Creole and the Coconuts" and "Rainbow Brown," a female trio with a sound all of its own. Later in collaboration with Fantasy, she told the world's House Music lovers "You're Too Late"- another dance floor winner. Then she recorded "Over Like A Fat Rat" which by many was named one of the best titles of the 80's, and until this day is still loved and played repeatedly around the globe, and then there was "Touch Me" with the group Wish Featuring Fonda Rae that ended up in "Nightmare on Elm Street" Part 2 and is still sweeping the dance floors. Shortly after came the house tracks "Hea O Bah," "Baby Do You Want My Love," "Liven In Ecstasy" and "Get Into You," which made Fonda Rae one of the dance music queens!
At present, Fonda is working behind the scene as an engineer, producer and songwriter. She has presently started her own company developing up and coming new talent.
