Album Notes

In his newest collection of songs, Michael Fontenot intimately explores the joys and struggles of relationships. This is the third CD release in as many years by this musician who began by emulating the Beatles, Paul Simon and James Taylor. He then moved on to study classical guitar and received a Master Degree in music from Yale University. While his live performances generally represent an eclectic selection of everything from humor, the popular song, to classical guitar pieces, this particular CD "I Got It All" features his popular songs. He worked closely with fellow musician, artist and entrepreneur David Johnson to generate this collection. Together, they have produced a CD that is musically and thematically coherent. The music features prominent guitar playing and lyrical vocals with accompanying bass and drums. Rich background vocals and harmonies accentuate the refrains. Michael created and performed all of the parts except for the distinctive harmonies of Debbie Gorden.

The art work and layout was done by Joel DeGrand, a Chicago photographer. Old photos from the late '50s of Michael and his wife Sarah were colorized and digitally enhanced to produce the front cover design. The tray card is a photo of Michael's son Andrew, and the insert features a wash out collage of photos providing a dramatic backdrop for the lyrics. More details of the art work of Joel DeGrand can be found on his web page: www.degrand.com.
