Greg Foresman has been a journeyman Guitar player throughout the Southeast and Midwest for many years now. Born in Louisville Ky, Greg started putting together rock bands at the tender age of twelve. Cutting his teeth on the Art Rock and British Blues scenes of the late sixties and early seventies, Greg quickly garnered a reputation as one of the most prodigious musicians to arrive in the Bluegrass state.
After a handful of successfull bands, Greg hit his stride with the formation of The Hammerheads in 1988.This rock-funk quartet dominated the "I-65" circuit from Southern Alabama all the way to Chicago.Although several major labels courted The Hammerheads,a deal was never inked. The band did ,however, release a self titled "live" CD which showcases the power and elegance of Gregs playing as well as his street smart songwriting chops. As they say "The Light that Burns brightest burns half as long" and the Hammerheads imploded at the end of 1992.
After moving to Nashville,Greg immediately started recording and touring as a solo act as well as contributing his" in your face " guitar style to up and coming country acts like Deborah Allen and Susan Ashton.
Greg released his first solo CD, titled "Rainbow Sky" in 1997. The disk showcases his ability to shift from a blistering rock anthem (Breaking Down The Walls) to a sensual slow blues (The Last Time) to a lilting folk ballad(Rainbow Sky).
Before he even had half a chance to tour in support of his CD,Greg was handed an offer he couldn't refuse. Country superatar Martina Mcbride was looking for a guitarist for her touring band and it seems Grag fit the bill impeccably.
Since then Greg has been very busy fulfilling his obligation to the Mcbride camp, writing and recording his music and occasionally finding time to tour with his own band.
Greg released his second CD,"Hymns and Devil Music" in January 2003. This is a more revealing CD , touching on themes such as spiritualism , gardening and fishing. The new CD has some special guests on it as well, featuring blues legend,Mike Henderson on harp and saxophone wiz Dennis Taylor.
