Album Notes

Originally from the Chicago area, Cindy traveled to Oregon to study geology after she couldn't find any rocks above the ground in northern Illinois.
She finally found some rocks out west and received a BS in Geology at the University of Oregon. She worked for 8 years all over the western U.S. and Alaska in oil and gas exploration. During this time she taught herself guitar and a little mandolin in between looking at rock samples. She felt absolutely no inspiration to write songs while working on the oil rigs. She often wondered where that inspiration came from while listening to John Prine, Neil Young and Bonnie Raitt.

After bidding farewell to that career, Cindy became a Registered Nurse. This opened her portals of poetry and songwriting. Cindy's songwriting is inspired in part by the patients she cares for and writes about loss of independence, caregiving and transitions. She works as an ER nurse in an acute care hospital in Oregon's Willamette Valley. She is an American Heart Assn. Basic Life Support Instructor and a CCRN (certified critical care RN).

Cindy has lived for years in the Oregon Coast Range Mountains which also inspires lyrics as well as humorous and challenging aspects of everyday life.
