The laughter and tears of these classical duets are projected by the idiomatic keyboard touch, the variation of sonority, the refined awareness of styllistic nuances, and the spontanious musical personality.

Ronald and Ruth Moir, the Moir Fortepiano Duo, took their undergraduate musical training at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg.
Following graduation they were awarded grants from both the Canada Council and the Manitoba Arts Council which allowed them 3 years of study in the UK with pianist and fortepianist Joan Davies.
At this time they became convinced their major interest would be performing as a duo on the historical instruments, and immediately set about crafting a musical identity in tune with Vienna of 1800.
After returning to Canada and settling in Toronto, they continued their studies by completing graduate degrees from the Boston University Historical Performance Dept as well as having private coaching with Igor Kipnis.
They have appeared as a duet or 2 fortepiano team on matching 18th c fortepianos from Toronto to Augusta, from Boston to Berkeley and Montreal to Vasncouver.
They are now based on the Canadian west coast where they are on the faculty of Trinity Western University.
