"Wow! I weep, I laugh, I savour...these songs are passionate and beautiful! This is an awesome CD--THANK YOU!" ~Canadian Nurse, Mother of three

Whether you're a God-worshipper, or if you are spiritually curious, a lover of poetic Scripture or passionate prayers, if you love to dance, or 'feel' the emotions behind good music, this CD is for you. It is also the perfect gift for that friend or family member who has recently gone through a difficult experience or Spiritual Awakening.

The heart-stirring truth in every song on this CD isn't the result of an easy life, but of seasons of pain, hardship and lessons learned in the darkness. The joyful hope that she offers through her Scripturally-soaked love songs to God will change you as you listen...

Debbie is an authentic, down-to-earth gal -- a wife and mother of three children whose journey has taken her to the highest mountains and the lowest of valleys in her 37 years. As you listen, you'll connect with her musical and spiritual journey... Debbie also travels throughout North America speaking to various women's groups about the life-changing power of hope in Christ that she sings and writes about.

Even though there is a 'rocker-girl' just below the surface (those albums haven't been created yet -- everything in time! -- she is also a versatile, inspirational pianist who desires to bless this busy generation with relaxing spiritual music so they can obtain some balance in their lives.

"To Love and to Be Loved" was produced by Award-winning Producer Chris Janz, the eldest son of Canadian legend Paul Janz (the singer/songwriter of "Amazon Rain" and "Believe in Me"). Chris instantly recognized Debbie's gifts, and offered many production and instrumental contributions to maximize Debbie's elegantly earthy music.

Debbie, who has been mentored by International Worship Leader / Artist, Brian Doerksen, asked reknown worship guitarists Brian Thiessen (from Brian's band) to join her on several tracks. As well, Johnny Markin (of Abbotsford's Northview Community Church) grace several of the tracks with passionate, artistic contributions.

  • To Love and to Be Loved
    author: Marci Young

To Love and to Be Loved changed the lives of the women who came to the Freedom Retreat in Wellington, FL afew days ago!!! The Holy Spirit impressed that HE would select extremely choice music which HE would move through so to wait for HIM to reveal it. Weeks went by. It was as I was driving down (retreat was to start that night) that I heard Debbie's music via a dear friend who uses this for her personal favorite worship CD and the Lord said, "THIS IS WHAT I WANT". Afew hours later as we all steeped in just one song at a time repeated so that the message could penetrate, hearts were greatly moved and lives were permenently changed. Praise GOD for the annointing He blesses this beautiful daughter with!!!!!! All of the women asked, WHO IS SHE???? HOW can I get her music. I haven't even had a chance to get my OWN CD, but I WILL!!!!!!!! THANK YOU for sharing with the Body SO RICHLY. Marci, former minister of music

  • very enjoyable
    author: Judy

It is great; I keep this CD in my car for a worship aide on the daily commute to work - a 40 minute trek. I have also just finished a Kay Arthur Names of God Bible study, so the song the Names of God was especially meaningful.

I just want to lift my hands and praise the Lord when I hear these songs. They are so inspiring and bring one closer to God.

  • Debbie's work is really heart warming and refreshing !
    author: Dicky Yarbrough

This CD is even better then Debbie's first one. I also enjoyed the story behind the Princess dress. I think my wife and daughter will love the story also. Thank You for sharing another example of putting your heart for God into a music ministry. I especially love the final cut of "Like an Eagle". We used the original raw cut during a talk at a men's conference a year ago and it touched many hearts there. Thank You...Thank You...Thank You :-)

  • LOVE IT!!!
    author: Melissa Westwood

My family and I weren't sure if it would measure up to the love we had for the first cd, but to our surprise it exceeds our expectations!!! Wonderful.

  • Moved by the truth of Deb's personal testimony
    author: Jocelyn Tessemaker

Deb's lyrics speak not only from her heart but God's heart. In listening to various songs on the CD, I am reminded of the truth and love of God and find peace and strength as I meditate on who God is through Deb's songs. I have been moved to tears more than once as I read Deb's testimony as to how this CD came about. I, like Deb have tried to please God to gain his acceptance, only to be moved to tears when I am reminded that His love for me does not depend on my efforts. He loves me unconditionally more than I can imagine! Sing it again Deb!

  • This CD is definitely deserving of a wider audience!
    author: Tom Lennie

It's over five years since Debbie's debut CD 'Oasis of Thirst' appeared. The wait's been worthwhile, though. This CD marks a notable progression in both strength of songwriting and quality of sound, while credit must also be given to the multi-instrumental work of producer/engineer Chris Janz. Debbie's competent alto vocals do much justice to this batch of self-penned tunes, and while she sticks mainly within piano-based inspirational pop ballad parameters - where she is clearly most comfortable and proficient - she does allow some breadth of scope, adding, for example, hints of funk and a touch of gospel here and there. Lyrics are thoroughly soaked in the scriptures, yet they remain fresh and original, while the spiritual depth ingrained in every stanza is both impressive and moving. Especially appealing are the choruses of 'Imagine, immersion' and 'Believe'. The first came with Debbie being "wonderstruck" by the truths of Ephesians... "Can you imagine your immersion / Into purest Love? / Can you imagine your immersion / Into promises that always come true?". The latter song was inspired by a prayer made by her great grandfather (x4!) - Dr. Andrew Murray, a pioneering Scots-born revivalist preacher in South Africa, whose life-story is worth checking out. Debbie's voice soars on these tracks - as, too, on the simply effective 'Like an eagle' (with fine guitar break) - where her introductory comments encourage the listener's spirit to likewise rise on high. Meanwhile, 'He bore my sorrows' is a beautiful meditation on the Cross. All in all - a charming experience of true "inspiration" - definitely deserving of a wider audience. Tom Lennie Scotland, UK
