For the uninitiated, Faction of the Fox is just a little bit misunderstood. For the knowledgeable, this release has been on the backburner of the Quincy Shanks archives for the last six years with high anticipation. With tongue firmly inserted in cheek, FOTF delivers a new sensation of beat and angst. Take the harsh voice, wit, and utter chaos of Born Against's vocal assault and dump them in a blender with the old school feel of Run-D.M.C. vocal syncopation and street beats and you'll find yourself somewhere in the territory of FOTF. Drawing on sincere punk roots, inside humor and the appreciation for hip-hop before it was hip, this faceless group of Chicago local legends strangely finds it's niche somewhere between Public Enemy's frivolity of music sampling and the stripped down vocalizations of raw and royal pissed-offedness. There is Word here to be learned... but first you must learn it.

Very well done!! Extremely catchy!
author: Ryan
Great stuff here. Not watered down at all. If anything, some fresh blood to hip hop. This takes it all in a different direction while maintaining a bizarre catchiness that few groups are able to match when trying something new. This is a must for punk and hip hop fans alike. A interesting twist of both genres that is very well done.

What a breath of fresh air! The beats, the delivery, everything. Amazing honest,
author: Tyler
The music on this EP blurs the line between punk rock and hip hop. Yes there are beats, but the vocals come from a punk background. Amazing breath of fresh air for independent music! Honest and original from the first track.
