Album Notes

Four unique and different contemporary singer/songwriters, (Christine Lavin, Sally Fingerett, Patty Larkin, Megon McDonough) coming from four different cities (New York, Columbus OH, Boston MA, Chicago IL) with their four very different styles and identities, sharing one stage, (a 500 seat showcase clue in Alexandria VA) THE BIRCHMERE.

This was the CD that started what has become a 15 year ongoing Musical Pajama Party. They've been called everything from "The Traveling Pillsburys" to "A Funny Fabulous Female Folkestra" to "A Sorority Slumber Party With Guitars" to just "Da Babes."

With songs like Patty's cool cynicism in "Not Bad For A Broad," Megon's heart wrenching plea in "Painless Love," Christine's timely "Prisoners of Their Hairdos" and Sally's AID's anthem "Home Is Where The Heart Is", this Cd set in motion the idea that four different women can aid and assist in the music making, fun having, cloth sharing, show stopping event that became..LIFE ACCORDING TO FOUR BITCHIN' BABES.

"The Babes showcase the wry humor and musical prowess that they command at their nimble fingertips. Stirring acoustic sets, stir the heart as well as the funny bone." BILLBOARD

Traveling Oprah Winfrey's" THE BOSTON GLOBE

"Together they tell humorously observant tales of modern urban life, and harmonize like a heavenly chorus." THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE

"How can funny sound this pretty?" THE NEW ENGLAND FOLK ALMANAC
