Album Notes

Start with four richly gifted singer-songwriters. Add 3/4 cup married life, five kids, four part harmony vocals, one piano, four guitars, a dollop of sharp social commentary and a wardrobe to die for. Put this on the road and allow to steep for twelve years and you've got...Four Bitchin' Babes. The Babes are Sally Fingerett, Debi Smith, Camille West, and Suzzy Roche (of the Roches)

"The Babes showcase the wry humor and musical prowess that they command at their nimble fingertips. Stirring acoustic sets, stir the heart as well as the funny bone." BILLBOARD

The Babes are proud to announce the release of their sixth and latest Shanachie CD, Some Assembly Required. The title refers to the unique process the group employed to produce the project.

"Together they tell humorously observant tales of modern urban life, and harmonize like a heavenly chorus." THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE

Each Babe independently produced three tracks for the recording in her own favorite studio. Sally and Debi did their tracks in Nashville, using musicians known for working with such legends as James Taylor, Martina McBride, The Judds. In NY, Suzzy co produced her tracks with engineer/producer Stuart Lerman (Dar Williams) Next, the group met in Nashville to lay down the Babes' signature harmonies. The project then moved to Washington D.C. where final mixing and mastering was done. The end result is a collection of songs that reflects each member's artistic personality, while retaining the ensemble's collective voice.

"Four Bitchin' Babes-A stellar group of contemporary artists who swim the emotional river with humor and poignancy." -LA TIMES

Great CD.

All I can say is buy the CD and go see whatever version of the Four Bitchin' Babes that is on tour. The 2006 group (Debi Smith, Sally Fingerett, Nancy Moran and Deirdre Flint) are very capably and proudly holding up the tradition established by the alumnae from Babes past. A good overall laugh at life in general.
