Album Notes

In November 2001, Marcus Christy, Paul Winterhalter and Brendan Robinson joined to form the band Lunar Funk Tribe. They debuted at the Royal Oak Music Theatre headlining the Bittersweet Express acoustic show on November 9th. The band performed a fusion of styles ranging from 70's influenced funk, soul and rock. After being well received at their debut show, the band then went on to play two more shows in the metro-Detroit area to close out the year.

After a constantly changing lineup, the band solidified the bass position with Brent Shammami, a high school friend of Brendan. The newly rejuvenated band decided to record a five-song e.p. at the Stellar Cellar in Lincoln Park. After a blistering recording pace, the project was finished in less than a month. Victor Minetola, of the Tempermill Studio in Ferndale, MI, mastered the e.p. and the band decided the dub the project "Brothers From another Mother."

Each member of the band influences came through in the recordings. The songs ranged from Sly and the Family Stone style funk to Sublime infused reggae, to back porch blues to Acid Jazz fueled jams. The music is a contrast to the negativity dumped out of the radio, and promotes positively and infectious grooves.

Currently Four Deep is pursuing management while honing their stage show. They are also developing a web site and merchandise to be available soon, along with the debut e.p. "Brothers From Another Mother" available at local record store and at live performances.

One thing is for certain; they are on the rise and gaining a fan-base by the day. Four Deep are a band apart from the norm. They will bring peace, love and positivity to whomever the come in contact with. Get Deep!
