Album Notes

Dave Fox and Will Branch celebrate ten years of playing music together with this recording – it's a mix of old blues, New Orleans tunes and traditional fiddle tunes, recorded with very little in the way between the listener and the music. A lot of friends joined in the music-making, and the instrumentation includes guitar, fiddle, harmonica, banjo, washboard, upright bass, piano, mandolin, and kazoo.

Fox and Branch's sources on this new CD include Sam McGee, Mississippi John Hurt, the Mississippi Sheiks, Blind Boy Fuller, Sonny Terry, Brownie McGhee and Dock Boggs. As always, Fox and Branch put their own stamp on the music while paying their respects to the tradition.

This is music to put on and have a good time to – whether you're dancing or singing along, doing the dishes, or letting the kids jump around. The tempos are up, the rhythms are driving, the words are funny, and a hot time is had by all.
