Album Notes

Andy Fraga was one of the top jazz pianists in the country - born and studied in NYC with Don Shirley - played with some of the best musicians and singers in the world - resident of southern California for many years where he performd regularly in clubs and concerts - also regularly played in Europe - honored as first jazz musician on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars - also prolific composer, arranger and jazz vocalist. Sadly, Andy died suddenly on August 26, 2005 in Idyllwild, CA, where he was scheduled to play later that day in the 13th annual Jazz In The Pines Festival, and where he, along with fellow co-founders Marshall Hawkins and Pat Rizzo, had performed each and every year. His solo CD, "Andy Fraga: Jazz in Palm Springs" is a fitting tribute and lasting memory of a great talent who touched and enriched countless lives.

"Solo piano interpretations of familiar jazz standards such as 'How Deep Is The Ocean', 'Emily', 'My Foolish Heart', 'Laura', and 'Alone Together' can help brighten your day, or your night out on the town....Andy Fraga offers a session of gentle themes that come from the heart....(he) merges variety with familiar flavors in one smooth affair....guaranteed to improve one's momentary moods, this (CD) reaches out with spontaneity and pizzazz to pique your senses...and drifts lovingly along gentle paths that turn romantic and mellow"---LA Jazz Scene
