Album Notes

"The Robert Frahm Band" offers some of the very best of the Blues.

Here's what Pete Kanaras of the Nighthawks has to say: "Blues enthusiasts can rest easy in the knowledge that there is a new, young group of players who take their blues very seriously...This is the debut CD by this very old 18-year old. By old I mean that in the brightest moments here he displays a maturity in his phrasing, tones and choice of notes that are at times remarkable. At 18, folks. Mentored by the great D.C. Blues legend, Steve Jacobs, he already possesses traits that take some players much longer to grasp, if ever."

Bob Sekinger of the Baltimore Blues Society wrote: "I had seen him first several years before...Wow, was the reaction then as it is now listening to this CD. Unlike many other young players, Frahm has bypassed the SRV, Hendrix, etc. obsession and proceeded right into the T-Bone, Otis, Pee Wee, and Magic Sam zone."

Robert began to play at the age of eight under the guidance of guitar master Eric Waters. He quickly realized that he was most interested in the roots of American music and focused on learning the Blues. He developed his technique and style while studying under and playing alongside DC-area guitar greats such as Steve Jacobs, Pete Kanaras, Rusty Bogart, and Brian McGregor.

WETA-TV recently featured Robert in a 30-second spot that promotes Martin Scorsese's PBS film series entitled "The Blues."

Fine musicians lay down a credible blues project. Problem with the last track is... there are no more tracks. Looking forward to hearing more from this guy.
