Frances Gumm has been around since the early 90's and has
toured the US with Sebadoh, Smog and Pavement- FG
was spawned in Amherst/ Northhampton MA, the same place that gave the world Dinasour Jr, New Radiant Storm King The Scud Mountain Boys and
Gobblegoof . FG has also played with the Silver Jews , Ween , Azalia
Snail, Lisa Suckdog , Lifter Puller, Dogbowl and countless other indie rock
mainiacs. They moved to St. Paul, MN so songwriter/ guitarist Paul
Dickinson could keep working on the Speedboat Gallery, an
alternative space that was the first venue to bring Green Day to
Minnesota. Speedboat was shut down after 7 years by the St. Paul Police
Department. Members of Frances Gumm have done their best to stay outof jail.
On Drums is Leo Kuelbs, who was the thundering powerhouse behind bands 900lbs and LTD. On Bass, it is David "Stainless Steel" Theil with his 1973 Rickenbacker, formerly with Pax Americana and Chinese Fire Drill. Frances Gumm is a reclusive cabal of noise freaks that are famous for playing bizarre venues. Their next CD is entitlled "Scorch the Earth" Their Midwestern CD release party is at the Thunderbird Hotel in Bloomington, MN on August 12, 2006 The East Coast party is at "The General Store Cafe" in Brooklyn NY on Sept 28, 2006
